Thanks to my friends at Boardwalk Floors, my man Tony at Urthurks .. and everyone else who helped out. The environment is serene, everything has a place .. and a place for everything. The Apple displays are awesome .. the pivot is awesome.

Just signed on with a new customer furniture maker, Tony from Urthwurks. Reviewed my drawings, and have agreed upon the final design. Soma has crafted our built-ins in the past. Urthwurks looks like they have a strong portfolio and a state of the art finishing facility

The home office reno project is well underway .. the room is now bare .. the olde desks and Ikea-crap are gone .. so is the gross carpet.

Now, it looks like the electrical panel needs to be upgrade .. and friends and family have convinced me that a murphy bed would be good for me for those late nites — or perhaps they should have just come out and said that it would be great for them when they visit!.

Wish list:

  • Flat Panel Displays 23″ or bigger, mounted on arms .. must be able to rotate to portrait
  • Mac machines visible .. Windoz Machines Hidden from view!
  • More Power/Plugs
  • CAT5e
  • All Wires Hidden
  • Murphy Bed
  • Somewhere for all the books that make up my collective brain
  • Filing Space
  • Tech upgradeable .. I am sure we will have CAT6 next .. then CAT7 .. every cable run must be hidden by accessable
  • Westcoast Wood, and Glass .. more work for David at SOMA?
  • Must blend-in design-wise into the rest of the houst
  • oh, and hardwood floors
  • oh, oh .. and a new chair!

Then while picking up the monitor, I bump my head on the coffin-like Ikea-crap cabinet, desk thingy … and that sets off a chain reaction unplugging my SCSI cable while the DAT drives was completing a backup, the tape popping out like toast .. and my machine blue screening .. then my chair breaks! This all occurred in under five minutes.

Nikko (the dog) is looking at me like I am nuts. ‘No, I am not speaking in tongues .. I am mad, I am swearing .. — Nikko . daddy needs a home office makeover!’
